3D SCANNING
Our top-of-the-range in-house 3D desktop scanner has 6.5 million pixels and point spacing of 0.029mm, making it the best on the market. Employing the latest Structured Light Technology, it can scan non-reflective objects in colour.
Able to handle pieces up to 10cm diameter, this high precision 3D scanner can be used for jewellery, diamonds and other objects.
It is the perfect solution for fitted wedding bands, scanning unusual stones, replicating items of jewellery, replicating carved waxes and for record keeping for insurance purposes.
We also offer a separate scanning service for lpieces over 10cm using our brand new high definition hybrid hand-held scanner. This offers both laser scanning for objects under 30cm and colour LED structured light scanning for objects over 30cm.
With either service, once the scan has been completed, it is transferred into a 3D CAD program. The scanned model can then be sent by email or printed in its raw form in wax or resin using one of our prototyping machines. Alternatively, we can digitally alter the scan to change textures or the design as required. There are many reasons for doing this, including altering it to fit a different finger size or to fit different stones.
Accurate measurements of distance, surface area or volume can be calculated and estimations of weights in various metals can be provided.
Prices are dependent on the size and scanning time of your piece but are highly competitive, starting from only £40 plus VAT for small scans and £85 plus VAT for medium-sized scans using our handheld portable scanner.
